Director's Message
Dear Families,
Thank you for considering the Rose Engel Early Childhood Center (ECC) at Adat Ari El. Choosing a school for your child is such an important decision, and it is an honor to be part of that journey with you. I cannot wait to meet you and your family, and for you to explore more about our philosophy, our approach, and the ways we are set apart from others.
At the ECC, we believe that Jewish and secular education are not two separate paths, but two threads woven together into one beautiful tapestry. Jewish learning and lifelong Torah values dance with best practices in early childhood education in a way that feels both organic and intentional. Our guiding principle is al pi darko—educating each child in their own way. This allows us to nurture every child’s individual path while surrounding them with a deeply Jewish environment filled with joy, curiosity, and belonging.
While we draw inspiration from pioneers like Vygotsky, Piaget, and the Reggio Emilia approach, we are first and foremost a Jewish school. Our Jewish lens is the foundation, shaping the daily experiences of children through rituals, Hebrew immersion, celebrations, and our unique parsha-and-challah curriculum. This curriculum, which I developed, ties intentional teaching to the Jewish calendar and allows children to truly live with the parsha each week.
As someone originally from Denmark, I also bring Scandinavian inspiration to our work, especially the emphasis on child-centered learning, community, and joy. This blends seamlessly with our Jewish approach, enriching the atmosphere we create for children and families.
It is a privilege to lead this community and to partner with you in supporting your child’s growth. I look forward to welcoming you into our ECC family and sharing the joy, warmth, and depth of what makes our program truly special.
With simcha,
Chana Fox
