Our Mission
At Adat Ari El ECC, our mission is to support the holistic development of each child in our care. We are dedicated to creating a learning environment that allows children to explore, experiment, and build their understanding of the world. Our staff extends this environment through careful observation, modeling, and scaffolding, supporting children's investigations and collaborative play. We aim to equip both families and staff with the tools and knowledge needed to nurture each child's growth and well-being at home and in school.
Our Vision
We believe every child has the potential to make a positive impact on the world. Rooted in Tikkun Olam, the Jewish concept of repairing the world, our vision is to nurture each child's unique gifts and foster their development into compassionate, community-minded individuals. Our goal is to help children grow into responsible, thoughtful members of society who take pride in being part of the Jewish community and feel inspired to contribute to improving the world for people, animals, and the environment.
Our Philosophy and Approach to Development
At Adat Ari El ECC, we foster a supportive and stimulating environment grounded in Jewish values and enriched by early childhood education pioneers. We blend Torah values with progressive educational practices to create a joyful, hands-on, play-based learning experience where children learn through exploration, creativity, and active engagement.
Our approach emphasizes social-emotional growth as essential to each child's journey. We cultivate a safe, inclusive space for children to express a full range of emotions and practice healthy communication. By guiding children through challenges, modeling positive behaviors, and encouraging problem-solving, we build resilience and empathy, equipping them to navigate the world with confidence.
Our curriculum emphasizes literacy, storytelling, and self-expression, fostering curiosity, compassion, and independence. In our daily routine, Jewish rituals connect children to shared traditions, with joyful practices like blessings, Shabbat celebrations, and Hebrew language experiences enhancing cultural pride and identity.
Our dedicated team, committed to lifelong learning, is central to fulfilling our mission through a developing mentor-teacher program and professional growth opportunities. Staff members actively pursue advanced education and training, ensuring they bring fresh insights and deep understanding to their work. We're committed to building a thriving community where both children and educators grow together in a shared journey of discovery.
What Sets Us Apart
Our program is set apart from others by the way we live our Jewish learning every day. We have a unique parsha-and-challah curriculum, developed by our director, that ties intentional teaching directly to the Jewish calendar and allows children to live with the parsha week by week. We provide daily Hebrew immersion for 3 and 4 year olds, giving children the gift of language and connection to Jewish culture at an early age. Inspired by Oranim College in Israel, we also take our preschoolers on regular mini-field trips, extending their learning into the community and world around them.
Families also rely on us because of our long opening hours (7:30am to 6:00pm) and the fact that we are open more days than most Jewish schools in Los Angeles. This flexibility, combined with our vibrant Jewish community, creates an environment that supports both children and their families in meaningful ways.
Our dedicated team of educators is central to our philosophy. Through professional development, mentorship, and a commitment to lifelong learning, they bring both passion and expertise into the classroom. Together, we cultivate a joyful, safe, and inclusive community where children can grow into resilient, compassionate individuals who are proud of their Jewish heritage and ready to contribute to the world.
