In the Community

Summer camp is happening, and it's going to be amazing!  This summer's camp experience will include challah baking every Friday, Jewish song and dance, great field trips and design thinking projects.  We will also have daily swimming, occasional sweet treats, live animal visits, sports, art,  and more.  Many of the kids' favorite counselors will be returning.  It promises to be a terrific summer!

The weeks of camp are:  June 17-21; June 24-28; July 1-5; July 8-12; 15-19; 22-26; and July 29-August 2.

The Festifun show will be held for the sixth year on March 31, 2019.

This year we received special treatment and every family whose children attend our school will receive a CD with songs and a DVD of the show by buying tickets for the show.

Tickets for the families of our school community will be sold at a discounted rate for seats located in the gallery.

The ticket price is $35 per child or adult.

All those who choose to purchase tickets in the hall complex will still be entitled to receive the CD and DVD as a gift.

Mental Health First Aide (MHFA)

2-Day Course

Just as a first aid class helps one to respond in a medical emergency, mental health first aid helps people learn how to respond to a mental health crisis. Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This 8-hour training, broken down into two four hours classes, gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.

Havdalah Highlights

We start each week gathered together as a school for a Havdalah ceremony, during which we highlight students who we have noticed acting in ways that carry out our mission. Because we are so proud of our students, we wanted to share their stories with you!

When a student came late to Havdalah, Maya A. (2nd grade) made room for her in the class line and put her arm around her to make her part of the group.

When a classmate was upset about a game, Hannah W. (1st grade) helped dry her tears and made her feel like she had a friend.

Danielle T. (3rd grade) collected all the coats from everyone in the class and brought them out to the students who forgot their coats.

3rd grader Katriella W. reminded everyone to line up in the correct order after recess.

Maya K. (2nd grade) helped a first grader fold the mats on the pavilion without being asked.

1st grader Guy M. helped move the trashcans in the auditorium so they will be closer to the students when it was raining outside. He did it with a smile on his face.

4th grader Jonathan M. is an inclusive and welcoming student who is always willing to work with any friend.
