Nut-free recipe lists

As you know, we keep our students safe by sending lunches and snacks to school that do not contain nuts. I thought I would share some menu ideas to help you in this effort! Though some of these recipes contain meat, the majority of them are either pareve or dairy, and great to take to school.

Happy lunch packing!

Camp ADAT

Summer camp is happening, and it's going to be amazing!  This summer's camp experience will include challah baking every Friday, Jewish song and dance, great field trips and design thinking projects.  We will also have daily swimming, occasional sweet treats, live animal visits, sports, art,  and more.  Many of the kids' favorite counselors will be returning.  It promises to be a terrific summer!

The weeks of camp are:  June 17-21; June 24-28; July 1-5; July 8-12; 15-19; 22-26; and July 29-August 2.

The Festifun show will be held for the sixth year on March 31, 2019.

This year we received special treatment and every family whose children attend our school will receive a CD with songs and a DVD of the show by buying tickets for the show.

Tickets for the families of our school community will be sold at a discounted rate for seats located in the gallery.

The ticket price is $35 per child or adult.

All those who choose to purchase tickets in the hall complex will still be entitled to receive the CD and DVD as a gift.

Please contact Naama Malka with questions (818) 269-7451.

Our goal is 200 cans donated by February 8, 2019 - let's make it happen! Bring your soup donations to the blue bin outside the Deiber Chapel." - Rabbi Yarkin

Havdalah Highlights

We start each week gathered together as a school for a Havdalah ceremony, during which we highlight students who we have noticed acting in ways that carry out our mission. Because we are so proud of our students, we wanted to share their stories with you!

Bar T. in 2nd grade discovered that he had a cut on his finger. Elianna A. (2nd grade) heard this and immediately offered to help him apply a band aid to the wound.

Mikka G. (3rd grade) will stay after class time to arrange the class.

Zachary F. (3rd grade) patiently taught a majority of his class how to send an email to the teacher for a class project.

Nathaniel B. (5th grade) cleaned off a lunch table where several students left plates and trash. He remembered that we want to leave a place better than we found it.

Daniel B. (Kinder) and Annie R. (Kinder) were very helpful to the educators on our field trip to Skirball. They reminded their peers to be respectful when teachers are speaking.

Elijah R. (3rd grade) helped two students folding the mats on the yard without being asked.
