Learning Tools

Flipgrid

We are introducing Flipgrid as our platform for online learning.  Students are able to access Flipgrid with their school Google email accounts. Please check your child’s take home folder for a worksheet with their login information - the Google login information can be found at the top of the sheet.

Flipgrid can be found online by entering www.flipgrid.com into your web browser.

Please have your child enter their teacher-provided Flip Codes by clicking at the top left of the screen where it says “Enter a Flip Code.”  Once your child has completed this step, they’ll be prompted to enter their Google username and password. This step only needs to be done once to gain access to their classes moving forward, but keep in mind that a grid will only be saved to the dashboard of your child’s account once they’ve interacted with a post on it.  From there it will stay on the dashboard permanently, or until manually deleted.

If the discussion calls for a video response, you will be prompted to allow the program access to the camera and microphone.  Please allow this, as recording video is only possible on a device after allowing access to it.

Your child should log into Flipgrid daily to check each of their grids.  Each grid subject will post assignments and facilitate online interactions with the rest of their class.  Mr. S will be available by email between 8:00AM-3:30PM to assist with any technical support issues that might arise.  Please reach out to dshiriwastaw@aaeds.org with any login issues or questions.

Google Classroom

Many of the teachers and specialists here at school use Google Classroom to facilitate learning.  Google Classroom offers tools comparable to Microsoft Office, with the added bonus of cloud storage - documents created in class can easily be accessed from home.

Each student is given their Google ID and password at the beginning of school both as a worksheet to take home as well as one for their use in class.  We use these often in class, so most students have memorized their credentials. If you or your student are struggling to log in, please reach out to Mr. S.

Google Classroom tools include Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Drawings.

Seesaw

Seesaw is an interactive and student driven portfolio that allows children the opportunity to express their learning in many different ways. There is a specific class login that was given to each student in their take home folder.  Alternatively, they can be invited by their teacher with a link.  Comment end   Please navigate to http://www.seesaw.com have your student log in.

Dreambox

Dreambox is our adaptive online learning program for math.  Grades 1-6 utilize Dreambox to enhance their learning in math class, and like our other online learning programs, Dreambox can be accessed at any time from home.  Please find our login page here:

http://play.dreambox.com/login/agmj/adataeds

Students will need their classroom code when logging in, so please reach out to their math teacher or Mr. S if you are unsure of your child’s classroom code.

Newsela

Newsela is our reading comprehension program.  Newsela features a number of topical and age-appropriate news articles at different reading levels.  Adat Ari El Day School uses this program for grades 2-6, and students can use their Gmail student accounts to access this app from home.
