Kitah Zayin | Tuesdays, 6:00-8:00pm
7th Grade

Continues the learning done in Kesher, with an expanded curriculum on what it means to be Jewish in the 21st century. In Kitah Zayin, we ask the fundamental question of, “why be Jewish?” This will be explored through Jewish history, art, and testimonials. We also are excited to work with the David Labkovski Project this year which you can find more info about here.

Derech Academy | Tuesdays from 6:00-8:00pm
8th & 9th Grade

Derech, meaning path or road in Hebrew, Academy goes further and deeper into Jewish learning. Students will be exposed to the Jewish calendar, cultural practices,and Jewish texts through Mussar (Jewish ethics and morals) and Hasidut (Jewish mysticism). This in turn creates a balanced and well-rounded human being. By the end of the year, students will have learned Jewish ethics, morals, and philosophy and how they can be implemented into their daily lives. 

Trana & Ronald Labowe Confirmation/Seminar Institute | Tuesdays, 6:00-8:00pm
10th-12th Grade

Taught by Rabbi Schuldenfrei, this experience will follow the journey through the book of Shemot (Exodus) in a hevruta-style (partner) text study. Throughout the year, the class will also engage in Shemot themed art project with longtime Adat member, Barbara Bressler, which will conclude with a ceremony during our Shavuot celebration. 



Adat Ari El Youth Group 
Tuesdays 6:00-6:45pm | 8th-12th Grade
The Adat Ari El Youth Group every Tuesdays from 6:00-6:45 for youth-led activities.

Every Family Friday, the Adat Ari El Youth Group invites you to join us for dinner and a Shabbat Tisch. The Tisch, which is Yiddish for table, will be a space for teens (8th-12th) to come together for a Shabbat celebration. We will sing folk songs and Jewish songs both traditional and modern, snack on some treats, sip some Martinelli's, and be together in community. We encourage those with musical instruments to bring them along!

8th-12th Grade

Love summer camp? Want to be a part of our staff for the Community Shabbaton? Come hone your leadership skills as we gear up for the Adat Ari El Community Shabbaton at Ramah February 3rd-5th. For this program we are partnering with local camps Camp Ramah in Ojai, Camp Alonim, JCA Shalom, and the Wilshire Boulevard Temple Camps. Earn community service hours for time worked at camp.

Adat Ari El is pleased to be a part of the LAunchpad: The Los Angeles Synagogue Incubator for Youth Philanthropy, an initiative of Honeycomb. This program launches high quality Jewish youth philanthropy programs in Los Angeles area synagogues.

Our program engages Jewish youth in life-changing experiences of philanthropy and community connection that shape and strengthen Jewish values and identity, leadership skills, and change-making abilities. Come learn how to build new relationships, learn collaboration, philanthropy, and give grants through a Jewish lens.
