Adult Education

Committed to ensuring that our members can access the deep wisdom of our tradition, Adat Ari El provides many, varied learning opportunities for adults in our community to grow their souls.  We offer a wide range of opportunities weekly, monthly, and seasonally. We invite you to become a life long learner! We hope you join us.

Speaker on Monday, February 22 at 6:00pm

Why was Esther a vegetarian in the court of King Ahasuerus? Taking this midrash as a launching point, we will examine the Jewish case for veganism from a legal and ethical perspective. What is the purpose of the kosher laws? How does the concept of tza'ar baalei chayim translate to 21st century consumption? Join us for a workshop and discussion on how Judaism teaches us to live well and wisely in practicing mindfulness around what we eat.

Sara Eifler is the Program Director of Jewish Veg, a national nonprofit that inspires and assists Jews to adopt plant-based diets as an expression of Jewish values. She is also a current rabbinical student.
