Our Program
In the JLC, our goal is to instill a deep sense of Jewish identity and connection that will allow our learners to feel a sense of belonging in any Jewish community they encounter throughout their lives. We empower our students to ask questions and seek answers, while accessing knowledge and wisdom from our ancient texts. They experience traditions that are both deeply rooted in our people’s history and are relevant to them in the modern world.
The JLC’s goal is to create and foster an interconnected, intergenerational community that engages the entire family. Multiple generations will learn from each other as we pass down the torch l’dor v’dor (from generation to generation) to the next generations of Jews.
Kesher (Connection) Tuesdays from 4:00-6:00pm
Kesher is our program for Kitah Gan–Kitah Zayin (TK-7th). Kesher, meaning connection in Hebrew, allows learners the opportunity to nurture their relationship to Judaism’s traditions, culture, and wisdom. Each week, learners will engage in a grade-specific curriculum and will have exposure to Hebrew in the form of brachot (blessings) and tefillah (praying).
Hebrew Through Movement
Our Kitah Gan-Kitah Bet (TK-2) classes participate in a program called Hebrew Through Movement (HTM). Hebrew Through Movement introduces Hebrew in a playful and meaningful way, creating a positive first link between students and the Hebrew language. Hebrew Through Movement (HTM) is supported by the latest brain research on learning, providing an aural foundation for Hebrew that opens the door to more facile Hebrew decoding and reading.
